Paws the same hue of the snow under them pounded rhythmically across the tundra. Wind rippled through the long fur of the beautiful wolfess to whom the paws belonged. Her pale green eyes glittered in the moonlight and her pelt danced with the shimmering light. Her name was Snowbreeze, daughter of Song and Kuoi. Though she’d never even known her parents, she referred to herself in this manner. The beautiful wolfess had a tragic past…both her parents had died only moments after her birth, she’d been raised by a kind-hearted fox who’d recently lost her pups to rabies. But then the fox had died and Snowbreeze was alone yet again. She ran from place to place with no destination in mind…although she would like to find a pack to settle down in one day.
Movement caught her gaze and she spotted a snowshoe hare a few yards away. The white femme licked her teeth; it’d been far too long since her last meal. Slowly she crept up upon the hare and when she was in range, she pounced and dug her teeth into the small creature’s neck. It died instantly and Snowbreeze began tearing into the flesh, her ravenous hunger finally ceasing. ‘It’s stringy and old…but it’s much better than nothing,’ she thought to herself as she demolished the small prey in a couple of bites.
The blood had stained her muzzle red so she began to clean it with the pure white snow around her. After that was done, the wolfess padded softly over to a small pool of frozen water. Grabbing a rock between her strong teeth, she dropped it on the ice. It cracked slightly and a trickle of water flowed from the crack. Snowbreeze drank contentedly as she listened to the distant birdsong. Then she heard something else…paw steps, coming from behind her…they were defiantly lupine. The ivory femme whirled around ready to confront the wolf that was there.

A grey wolf was trotting along Tundra Feilds. He wasn't exactly paying attention to his surroundings like he should have been. Tetesi had sent him on another patrol. A patrol! Why couldn't she have sent him to do something fun for once...or at least something that wasn't completely useless. He could be hunting right now! But no! He had to be stuck out here, just stalking along and looking to see if there were any trespassers...like there would be. And what were the chances that even if there were that he would be in the exact place that they were at the exact time as well? He shook his head. It was ridiculous. It's not like he had ever found any one trespassing before! Most wolves weren't so stupid as to cross the Bariganda scent line. So, instead of being on an attentive watch, he was strolling along and gazing at the beautiful scenery of summer. A rare smile lit his face. At least he got to get out and see Tundra Fields in summer. He suddenly froze in disbeleif. In front of him was a white wolf who did not have the scent of Bariganda and more improtantly that he didn't recognize.
"Who the heck are you?!" he growled from behind her, "And why are you on Bariganda territory?!" He then sighted the bloodied remains of a snowshoe rabbit. "YOU STOLE PREY TOO! WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU THINKING?!" He smiled despite himself. It felt good to get mad at something every now and then...but then he frowned when he realised that maybe he should have been paying closer attention...and that this patrol might have been important after all...

Snowbreeze stared back at the gray wolf who questioned her, wondering why he was so angry…what had she done wrong. The usually even-tempered, kind wolfess became uncharacteristically angry. “What the hell is Baridiganda and who are who to tell me where I can and can’t hunt?” her pale green eyes blazed with fire. No wolf could tell her where she could hunt, or accuse her of stealing. Prey didn’t belong to one group, or one group of wolves but to all wolves who walked under Lupus.
“As for what I was thinking…I haven’t eaten in over a week, I saw a rabbit, i was starving, so I decided to catch it and eat it. Would you rather I’d died?” Snowbreeze narrowed her eyes and waited for an aresponse.

He narrowed his eyes and became cold as ice as he realised that he couldn't trust this wolf. He was barely comfortable with Bariganda...but he could trust no outsider. "If you want to know the truth? Yes...I would have preferred you died," he snarled cruelly at her. He really didn't care about the wellbeing of any other wolf outside of his own pack. "We have an entire pack to feed...and this is their territory. I can't tell you where to hunt...but I can tell you where not to hunt... here because this is my pack's territory. And as to what Bariganda is...it is the best of all the Zaburi packs and the noble pack that I have chosen to live under." His fur began to rise in hostility. "Oh, and we don't allow trespassers on our land...SO GET THE HECK OFF IT!!"

"Do you really think I care about your magnificent and wondrous pack?” SnowBreeze snarled, baring her teeth in his face, “You don’t care for any wolf other than those in your pack. That’s why I’m a loner…I can’t stand that arrogance. And…as a matter of fact, you can’t tell me where not to hunt. I hunt wherever I please, no wolf can tell me otherwise. Prey and land don’t belong to any one wolf…but to all wolves to share amongst themselves. This is Lupus’s wish.” Snowbreeze realized she was repeating the words of the traveling shaman wolf she’d met a year back.
Her pale green eyes narrowed as she continued to stare at the gray wolf, “You pack wolves…you’re all arrogant, thinking you’re better than nonpack wolves. This will be your down fall one day…mark my words.” Although she said these things, Snowbreeze still longed to get a taste of pack life…but this wolf was infuriating her.

Sentii stared, dumbfounded, at the loner's words. On one hand, he wanted to leap at her, rip her throat out, then leave her body here for the crows. But on the other hand, her strong words enticed him and the fact that she was speaking them, despite the fact that they would most likely make her an enemy of an entire pack of wolves was amazing. How could he possibly attack such an outspoken and feirce she-wolf? "Uhhh..." he said uncertainly. What could he say after an attack like that? And she was challenging all that he had ever beleived in...ever known. He had never even thought of an alternative to the beleifs of pack life...to him, it didn't exist. And she had brought Lupus into this. How the heck did any one know what his wish was? It was all so confusing. For a moment, he just stood there stupidly waiting for her to say more. He needed to find fault in something that she said so that he could chase her off...but he couldn't until he had proof that what she was doing was actually wrong...which was incredibly frustrating.

Snowbreeze sighed; maybe she’d been a bit too outright. “I have an idea…what would you say to letting me join your pack temporarily just to let me see what it’s like? Maybe I could teach you to share the earth...or maybe my view on pack life would change after living in one for a while…” the pure white femme broke off, realizing how weird she must sound. Embarrassed, she looked down at her snowy white paws, wondering how he’d react to this.
Snowbreeze wasn’t sure he’d accept her into the pack with how fierce she’d been to him, but she had to try. She wanted to know what it felt like to live with other wolves and coexist as one unit.

Chestnut paws crossed the light dusting of snow that still remained in the tundra though it was summer, lighting bounding through the beautiful land. Hawk-yellow, beautiful eyes scanned the landscape, worry and amusement clashing in them. Taka, alpha of Baridiganda-Zaburi, had left home, searching for his missing daughters. He sighed, slowing his pace a little. Arashi was naturally curious and left at will, but Yuki was more...stable. Perhaps he had been too hard on her for stumbling through the shaman's supplies again, after all, she perhaps had the makings of the next Shaman.
Frowning as he squinted ahead, Taka picked up his pace again, trotting quickly toward two lupine figures in front him his position. He quickly registered Sentii, the grey warrior that had left for patrol and moved on to gaze at the lupe he confronted. It was a she-wolf, he could smell it and at first looked almost like Sarita...except it was not. Sarita had not been around for some time but her scent couldn't have been lost that quickly, and by the tension of Sentii's fur, he knew that this wolfess was no home-coming beta-ess.
Stopping as he came up behind his fellow Baridigandian wolf, he narrowed his eyes and surveyed the she-wolf, automaticly falling into the alpha stance. His experience level had risen steadily during his life with Tetesi and he now addressed the she-wolf properly as Tetesi had him when she first found him on the island. "I am Taka, alpha of Baridiganda-Zaburi Pack, and I'd like to demand your dubbance and business on these lands," he growled steadily, taking in the blood and rabbit scent. He chose not to bring that up as Sentii most likely already had.
He flickered his harks at the shaggy grey wolf in greeting, golden orbs still fixed on the she-wolf loner. He waited, unblinking for her response. He hadn't been near enough to hear their previous conversation but expected that the Kerl had said something that shocked his warrior by Sentii's startled and somewhat confused expression. Eyes cold, though not as cold as Tetesi's usually is, he continued to stare at her, somewhere between a glare and a curious, questioning gaze.

Snowbreeze glared icily at the newcomer, annoyed to be answering the same questions yet again, "My name is Snowbreeze...my buisness here is I am feeding myself because I'm starving. As I've already told this pathetic disgrace of a wolf here...you pack wolves are so arrogant...pretending you own land. Land isn't for one wolf to own, nor is prey. It should be shared." Snowbreeze narrowed her pale green eyes, daring him to challange her.
"Yet...maybe my beliefs on pack life are somewhat skewed since I've never lived in one. And perhaps both I and Baridiganda-Zaburi Pack would benefit if I temporarily or possibly permanently joined your pack. I could teach you to be more sharing of the earth and maybe you could teach me why you believe what you do. Since you are the alpha...I assume you can decide now if I can join or not," the pure white wolfess felt no regret for tresspassing nor for stealing prey. She felt it was Lupus's will that his wolves shared what was given to them. Yet, the wolfess did long for a taste of packlife...to feel bonds of friendship and kinship that she'd never really felt before.

The chestnut brute narrowed his eyes as she spoke of sharing all land. He cocked his head at her and snorted a little, ears flickering as she also questioned to join Baridiganda-Zaburi. He gave a soft swish of his tail in response and looked over her again, amused a little at her impatient tone of voice, yet also a little irked by it.
"It is Lupus' way for the wolf to live in packs, thus benefitting from the hunt." He ran his tongue over his maw and continued to speak, "We are bound together by heritage and by the bonds of pack life because it is how the strands of her anscestors in us are woven to be."
He paused and glared at her a little, yellow eyes glinting brightly. He lifted his lips in a soft growl of disdain but shook his head. "We are made that way so that even the loneliest Kerls long to share in the pack songs of life, death, and share the exhilirating rush of the hunt..." He sighed and nodded, glancing at the sun before turning his gaze back to her.
"However, you are welcomed to join the pack if you wish."
